Who knew there were so many varieties of birds at the Silver Star Inn?

While the Silver Star is famous for its flocks of Ruby Throated Hummingbirds in the summer months, one of our knowledgeable bird-watching guests observed at least 18 varieties of birds over the weekend of July 8th and 9th.  We could identify the Goldfinches, Eastern Bluebirds, Robins, Cardinals and Barn Swallows easily, but here’s the list of other birds that were found, either by sight or sound!

Wood Thrush, Catbird, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Chipping Sparrow, Field Sparrow, Turkey Vulture, Cowbird, Eastern Phoebe, Easter Wood-Peewee, Eastern Towhee, Red-winged Blackbird, and House Wren.

If you’re a birder, remember to bring your binoculars the next time you visit us in Spring Green!  The International Crane Foundation is also located about an hour from us in Baraboo, WI.  Be sure to visit their website https://www.savingcranes.org/, and plan your visit accordingly!
